JOYFUL ABUNDANT LIFE

Winters here can be a hard thing to get through. The weather and everything is so dreary. I could not have gotten this great devotional in my email at any better time. 

The devotional was talking about Gods Promise of an abundant life in John 10:10 which is one of my favorite verses : 'The thief come only to kill, steal, and destroy, but I have come that you may have LIFE and that abundantly." That is not usually how any of us  look at our life, is it? But its a promise of God. The writer of the devotional said these words that are so full of truth: "I often get so wrapped up in the urgent things of life that I loose sight of the important things." The only way to get through life with true Joy in your heart is to trust in God. There's not a whole lot we can do on our own, face it... God gives you the air you breathe. Sure, we can all get money from work, buy food and other things and it appears that we are taking care of ourselves. But the reality is that the real substance of life, the things we need to survive... God gives. We cant earn them, thats Gods grace in His creation. He give us all we need... have we squandered it, given it away? We can only find true LIFE, real JOY in Christ Jesus our Savior. Nehemiah 8:10 says "The joy of the Lord is your strength." Every ounce of strength we have comes form God. Are you strong in God.... I mean have you found JOY in the LORD? I know I have and I know that I am right in the middle of HIM. I hope you are too.
