Wow! its amazing here in AK right now. we are supposed to break 90 today. which is nice for sunning in but bad for Nick... With his new job there is a pretty good amount of "gear" to wear and he is out in the sun all day. Monday and Tuesday he made himself sick out in the sun and today is going to be even hotter!!! please pray that he takes it easy and cools himself off when he needs to. When i showed up yesterday to bring him more water he almost fainted on me.

Life other than that is good :)

still waiting to see what will happen with some possible changes in my job description, and our church is now in the process of trying to find a new Pastor... i am on the committee and its already looking like politics have found their way into our church and i really hope and pray that everyone involved will try to do the best for the whole church not themselves!

so,  thats the news of the Blankenships for now.... next week i should have new pics and a better blog :)

Whoopee!!!!

Well, i am sure the Africa thing looked a little crazy for you guys to read, but Nick and I are praying about it. We Definitely want to go on some mission trips to Cape Town South Africa.... When? - we dont know yet.

We are in contact with some different people and groups to get this going. there is alot of paperwork to get filled out and submitted.  So, please pray for us as we seek Gods direction in our lives. We both feel called to full time missions but we dont yet know how, or where or when. 

Also PRAISE GOD!!!! Nick got a job at Northland Services in the barge yard running forklift and so on. He's only been there two days and has impressed everyone there. 

My job description is a little fuzzy right now, so please pray that that gets clarified SOON!

And you all have heard me talk about my friend Carrie (one of the twins), well she has a hip replacement two days ago and yesterday was in great PAIN and they had to do something with the muscles in that area, she has a long recovery ahead of her, so please pray for her as she faces all of this in her life at only 25 years old.

God is SOOO Great!!

Wow! i just had one of the best weekends ever!!!

We had an island wide Women's retreat and it was such an amazing blessing!!!

We heard about a ministry opportunity to go to Africa and Nick and i want to go this next Spring!!!

WOW, when it is nice here it is AMAZING!!!

it really is beautiful!! If you notice in some of the pictures (not sure if you can see it) but there is still snow in the shade in alot of places. but its almost 60 degrees out. and thats almost double of what it has been for months on end here now. May is one of the most beautiful times here and the pictures just dont do it justice if you can imagine that!

Lets see.. there are some hopeful job opportunities for both Nick and I, but we wont know anything about that for a little while. 

Umm.. this weekend there is a women's retreat and i am so pumped up i cant hardly wait!

Right now i am sitting in my office and the students have gone outside for the day - NOT FAIR!! i know that at one our schools in another town here close they took all the students out in the Canoes today. I want to be a kid, but no, here i am so at least i can write about it and share with you all of the info :)

Its FINALLY here!

I feel like I have been waiting forever for this. I have been boiling over with "cabin fever" and although it is still in the 30-40 temperature range its amazing outside. There is sun shining even though the clouds pass overhead the sun is there giving us that much needed dose of Vitamin D that this community is severely deficient in. Praise God! On the day we celebrate the Resurrection of Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior, He blessed us with Spring! Easter was great. I missed all of my family and friends down in the "lower-forty-eight". I wish you could have been here to enjoy the amazing creation of God's come to life, the birds, the blooms, there is even a different scent in the breeze. God makes all things new at the right time. I praise Him for choosing me and for blessing me with all of the many things that if I were to name them you would quit reading. :) There is change in the air, not only the wether, but I know God is on the move and another change is coming. I dont know what or when, but I know God is in Control and I am along for the ride!
